IE Foundation IE Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the values of IE University through the creation of projects and resources aimed at improving the quality of education, the generation and dissemination of cutting-edge knowledge, the funding of scholarships for the development of young talent and the culture of giving back and social impact of our community.IE Foundation has grown in the last few years thanks to the support of IE community, donors, and corporate partners.  We have established new scholarship programs and fundraising campaigns to foster international talent.

Additionally, through the efforts of our centers, observatories, and chairs, we have promoted the generation of cutting-edge knowledge in forward-looking areas such as sustainability, entrepreneurship, impact investing, employee well-being, in collaboration with significant international institutions and companies.With a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and societal development, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director in Fundraising, Development and Major Gifts to join our dynamic team. Location Madrid Spain.

Full-timeWithin the team of IE Foundation and the Fundraising committee as Director in Fundraising, Development and Major Gifts, you will be supporting the design and implementation of  comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support from alumni and other individual donors, corporations, and foundations.

Your primary focus will be on major gift fundraising.

Key responsibilities include Fundraising Strategy DevelopmentCo-develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals and objectives.Identify and prioritize fundraising opportunities, with a particular focus on major gift prospects and partnerships with companies and foundations. Major Gift FundraisingCultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth alumni and other individuals, corporations, and foundations to secure major gifts.Create personalized solicitation strategies for key donors, ensuring engagement and commitment. Prospect Research and IdentificationDevelop own research and work closely with the Research team at Global Alumni Relations and Institutional relations to identify potential donors, partners, and funding opportunities in alignment with organizational priorities.Utilize data-driven insights to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making. Collaboration and Relationship BuildingWork with prospective donors/partners to determine their philanthropic interest related to IE Universityl’s fundraising goalsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering a culture of philanthropy.Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team, program managers, and other stakeholders to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities. Grant Writing and Proposal DevelopmentDevelop Proposals for Major Gift Donations and Partnerships.Prepare compelling grant proposals, reports, and other documentation for foundations and government funding sources.Ensure timely and accurate submission of grant applications and compliance with funding requirements. Event Planning, Training and ExecutionPlan and execute fundraising events, ensuring they align with organizational goals and contribute to the overall fundraising strategy.Provide cultivation and solicitation training to leadership and key internal stakeholders.Requirements Proven experience and track record in fundraising, with a focus on major gift solicitation and development.Excellent organization skills and a proactive attitude.Understanding of European and International funding landscape, philanthropic trends, and regulatory frameworks.Demonstrated success in building and sustaining relationships with individual donors, corporations, and foundations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising materials.Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.Minimum 5-8 years professional experience.

Master’s degree from a top-ranked university.

Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and oral), with substantial professional experience in both languages.As a plus, robust strategic knowledge and experience in the global education sector.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge in the use of Fundraising Relationship Management tools, such as Raiser’s Edge as a plus.Willingness to travel as needed.
